Cluttered desktop and the stories behind each icon…

Wallpaper: Jace, Memory Adept

I’m not supposed to make this post complicated, I should be babbling about mundane stuff. But tonight, I just feel like talking much. I’ve already spent 22 minutes checking the PR of my other blogs and some PR-drop disappointed me. I’m not depressed and this long boring post will prove that.

First of all, my desktop wallpaper is a planeswalker from the trading card game “Magic: The Gathering” – Jace, The Memory Adept. His powers (Note: You may skip reading this paragraph) are:
+1: Draw a card. Target player puts the top card of his or her library into his or her graveyard.
0: Target player puts the top ten cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard.
-7: Any number of target players each draw twenty cards.

Now, with the icons…. There are 6 columns and 10 rows so I wonder how much time I’ll be wasting consuming here. Timer starts now. (PC Clock shows 12:10AM)

COLUMN A
1. Compaq – Default user folder.
2. Computer – Default Computer icon.
3. Recycle Bin – There are currently 17 items there. I tried to “Empty” it just to check the number of files.
4. Anime – For the love of anime, we have this folder.
5. Dungeons and Dragons – It’s my boyfriend’s file for he is a Dungeon Master. I play D&D, too and my character is an Elf.
6. Games – Some PC games to ease my boredom.
7. LATEST_Frequently Used – A folder created in an attempt to clear my desktop. Last week, I just dragged some icons there, now, I have new clutter!
8. Magic The Gathering – Now, you should be familiar with this term. This folder contains MTG card images, spoilers and related articles. Oh, and our deck lists, too!
9. Marriott Hotel – Images from Thai Cooking Class @ Marriott Manila. I’ve uploaded them already so it’s about time to delete the folder! (Is this the moral lesson of the story a.k.a. blog post for the day?)
10. MP3 – Music files

COLUMN B
1. My Folders – Lots of random folders inside. Once again, as an attempt to consolidate the different folders on my desktop. I might just drag Marriott Hotel here. It’s better to have backup.
2. Nails – Latest photos of my fingernails. Ooopsie, a nailaholic here. I love nail polish and nail art!
3. TTi_EL_Download – Extracted files of my antivirus installer. Will delete it later.
4. VTM Masquerade – Another role-playing game, Vampire the Masquerade. I forgot the character I’m playing here.
5. COLexpandedEIPList – Sort of investment guide from Citiseconline. I’m keeping this .pdf file because I was not able to attend the midyear market briefing.
6. Dealer Registration – Registration form for those who would like to be a member of Human Nature.
7. Dealer Terms June 2011 – Human Nature Dealer terms. 6th and 7th always go together when I’m sending emails for dealership.
8. Starter Wallpaper – Application that allows me to change my desktop wallpaper. I’m using Vista Starter with limited features.
9. TTi_EL_Download – Antivirus Installer.
10. USBGuard – Freeware, USB Disk Security

COLUMN C
1. Architerra Logo – I’m exploring the world of real estate agents and Architerra Properties just briefed me with some basic stuff.
2. Babu and Liz-Loreland – Just downloaded this picture from my friend’s album. It’s me and my boyfriend walking downhill to one of the Loreland cottages.
3. Dollar to Peso Exchange Rate – Image of dollars for one of my blog posts.
4.GodWantsYouToKnow – Image of God Wants You To Know Facebook app.
5. jobstreet-jobgantic – I’ve just uploaded this image to my latest post in Bloguardian Hellsite.
6. Liz Nikon – My shot in front of the mirror. Haha.
7. Dealer Order Form 25 – Human Nature Order Form
8. Architerra Listings July – Property Listings courtesy of Architerra Properties.
9. Gandang Kalikasan Inc – A form submitted by a new Human Nature member.
10. Gilmore Wines and Spirits – Wines priceslists. I requested it while looking for Malibu rhum online.

COLUMN D
1. DTI and Blogging – The latest issue in the blogosphere. I downloaded this document for review.
2. FS Moms Letter – Friendster memento. A letter from ex-bf’s mom that melted my heart and made me feel guilty…
3. Liz Nikon – Copy of Liz Nikon.jpg
4. Liz Nikon 2 – Second shot in the mirror. Lol.
5. LizzyCommenter – One of my blog badges.
6. The Smart Agent – Screenshot of The Smart Agent.
7. uTorrent – P2P application for my downloading needs.
8. Mozilla Firefox – alternate browser
9. Opera – alternate browser
10. Skype – My main messenger.

COLUMN E
1. SMART BRO – backup ISP. When Globe wi-fi doesn’t work, I go for Smart Bro USB.
2. VLC media player – My all-around media player!
3. Yahoo! Messenger – old school(?) messenger. Everything and everyone is in Facebook now!
4. CyberLink YouCam – application for the built-in laptop camera.
5. Downloads – shortcut to my Downloads folder.
6. Google Chrome – default browser
7. Magic The Gathering Tactics – online RPG but I didn’t get the chance to play it since I was not able to download the patch.
8. Narcissu Web Edition – some sort of interactive anime.
9. Trend Micro Titanium – Installed antivirus software.
10. My Scratch Paper – A very handy notepad! I’m keeping this on my desktop because it’s the most accessed file!

COLUMN F
1-3 Kamen Rider torrent – currently downloading Kamen Rider Kabuto.
4. PhishingSecurityAdvisory – corrupted image download.
5. PhishingSecurityAdvisory – image from UnionBank’s security advisory.
6. Unionbank Security – text version of the above file.
7. LiezlDeOca – file received from my friend.
8. ZILEFront – accidentally copied this file from one of the FTP sites I’m working on.
9. Cluttered Desktop – latest file after printscreen-ing my desktop for this post

Whew! 39 minutes and still counting for this mundane post, eh? I should end it here, then!
